WINNIPEG, MB – Winnipeg Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters today announces the club has agreed to a contract extension with defensive back Chris Randle.

Randle is entering his third season with Winnipeg, and fifth in the Canadian Football League. He amassed 37 tackles, seven special teams tackles, one interception, and one sack in ten games last season, before suffering a season ending knee injury. In four CFL seasons (59 career games), he’s accumulated 148 defensive tackles, 44 special teams tackles, two sacks, eight interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and two fumble recoveries.

“Chris Randle is one of our most valuable players, on either side of the football,” said General Manager Kyle Walters. “What he brings to the football field, his intensity, athleticism and skill, along with the intangibles that he carries inside our locker room, all of those are hard to find in one individual. He’s a key piece of our organization moving forward, and extending his contract is very key for us.”

Randle was acquired in a trade with Calgary the day before free agency opened in 2014, and immediately signed an extension with Winnipeg at that time.

I hope they move him back to corner this season. If so, does Leggett stay at SAM with Harris at safety?

Macho Harris at safety? Good lord I hope he's not on our team never mind our starting safety. Even Teague would be a better option than Macho for that position. But, if macho manages to crack our starting line up (puke) he'd be playing SAM.
