My god what a sordid affair, with all the litigation Sherman pursued I'm not surprised somebody eventually put an end to him.

The other side of Barry Sherman

Barry and Honey Sherman were beloved philanthropists. But he lived amid feuding family members, endless lawsuits and claims of corporate espionage. What really happened before their tragic deaths.

Somalia's government says it has seized several bags of money worth almost $10m from a plane that arrived at Mogadishu airport from the United Arab Emirates capital Abu Dhabi.

The money was found in three unmarked bags on a Royal Jet plane, the Somali interior ministry said, and its seizure resulted in an hours-long standoff between airport officials and UAE embassy staff in Mogadishu.

Royal Jet is an airline based in Abu Dhabi, aimed at the luxury market between the UAE and Europe.

After more than a decade of court wrangling and negotiation, the federal government and Treaty 1 First Nations have reached an agreement in principle on Winnipeg's Kapyong Barracks.

The announcement came from seven First Nations and Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan on Wednesday morning.

"I am absolutely excited about it," said Long Plain Chief Dennis Meeches on Tuesday. "It's been a long time coming."

Meeches spoke on behalf of six other Treaty 1 First Nations chiefs involved in the negotiations: Jim Bear of Brokenhead Ojibway Nation; Glenn Hudson of Peguis First Nation; Craig Alexander from Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation; Derrick Henderson of Sagkeeng First Nation; Lance Roulette of Sandy Bay First Nation; and Francine Meeches from Swan Lake First Nation.

The agreement is an important milestone and will be used to develop a final settlement agreement, which will include terms for the sale and future use of the property, said Sajjan.

I thought that their was going to be no more casinos in Winnipeg?   I might be getting things confused but I thought the Casino in the OCN was trying to move to Winnipeg and that plan was squashed immediately?

Took 15 years to get to this point... Gonna take another 5 before anything is done there besides demolition.

I would highly doubt an urban reserve would have a casino... Highly doubt it...

Id expect you will see housing and native businesses instead. No casino. I actually dont think you even see a reserve happen there.. I think the area will fight it and win... Nothing is set in stone... Nothing will be done for years if ever.

The only thing i see happening in the next few years would be the city negotiating for a piece of land that borders Kenaston to widen it, a lot of work needs to go into that location before the ever building anything on it

I see a mix of commercial and residential properties. There will be office space. It's going to "look" like anything else you would see across this city. No casino.

Good.  Hopefully they come up with some good ideas for the site as its absolutely huge.  I'd assume a Casino will be part of it, which would do very well in the South End.  And the city can finally begin widening Kenaston.

What doesn't Kenaston have?
