The CBC posting this ladies picture coming out of court seems like a public shaming move, I don't recall them doing the same for the driver that caused the Humboldt Broncos accident or any other person responsible for multiple deaths, like the guy from Carman that killed his family.  If anything she is guilty of being senile.

You remember incorrectly, the Humboldt driver definitely had his picture in the media many times. They also posted the picture of the Toronto nutjob that ran down a bunch of people.

I didn't know where to put this so I put it here.

Loblaw reports $13.58B in Q1 revenue, as Reddit group's boycott kicks off (msn.com)

Capitalism at it's finest.

It's the best system we have I'm told but those same voices go quiet when I counter, is there room for improvement when it comes to a small group of people making gobs and gobs and gobs of money off the backs of lower middle class people's necessities of life?

I'm all for profit but I'm always met with a shrug of the shoulders and it's the best system we have when questioning profit margins trump everything else.

I love how some capitalists instantly pass the buck and never chat profit margins (no matter what gotta keep em and increase em for our shareholders with creative book keeping) but are very vocal about increased prices that aren't their fault look over there while rambling on about supply and demand. And gawd forbid demand goes down then the default becomes we're too big to fail better help us or all these people will lose their jobs and we may have to pull out of your communities. Bullet proof strategy cemented with 'its the best system we have' while offering gobbly **** responses to how profit margins work.

(Q): Please explain profit margins, record profits when it comes to the necessities of life (food, gas, electricity, water etc)?

(A): Thanks for the question average Canadian who probably supports communism cuz they dare to question anything about capitalism, it's all much too complicated for your brain to comprehend, let us brilliant trust fund entrepreneurs take care of the adult stuff.

I remember the old days when we camped out for tickets. None of the pre sales they have now where sponsors & elites get first pick before the scraps go on sale to the general public & an event is sold out in two minutes. The last time I did that was in May of 1978 when the Eagles were going to play Assiniboia Downs in August. They were the hottest rock band on the planet back then. I got to Eaton's at 7;30 pm the night before the tickets went on sale at 9:30 am. There were already a hundred people there ahead of us. My 2 friends & I had a blast talking with some of the people around us also in line. That was also when it was relatively safe to go downtown....

Did that a couple times in the late 80's/early 90's.  For the life of me I can't even remember which concerts I did that for though.  All that ended with Ticketmaster - now there's pre-sale after pre-sale, bots, and a terrible website to compete with,

That being said, I can usually get tickets to the show I want to see.  I've been to 3 concerts in the last 6 months with a 4th coming up and I've had roughly the same seats/section for each one.  I've only missed out on getting tickets for one so I'm having to keep watching for more tickets to become available or some reasonably priced re-sell tickets.

The Bay ticket office was called the Celebrity Box Office (CBO) & Eaton's was the Attractions Ticket Office (ATO). Usually the music promoter dealt with just one, I believe. Although with the Eagles the promoter may have dealt with both as over 50,000 people bought tickets to that concert which was unprecedented at the time. So long ago, I can't remember.

I feel like TicketMaster is no different then oil & gas companies and are too big and too dominant to take down. Donation here and there and it'll get dropped.

You can have  4 gas stations at a 4 way stop in Winnipeg and they'll all have the same price. What's been done?
