The creepy ways Facebook spies on its users have been detailed in a bumper document presented to Congress.

They include tracking mouse movements, logging battery levels and monitoring devices close to a user that are on the same network.

The 454-page report was created in response to questions Mark Zuckerberg was asked during his appearance before Congress in April.

Lawmakers gave Zuckerberg a public grilling over the Cambridge Analytica scandal, but he failed to answer many of their queries.

....

WHAT ARE THE 18 METHODS USED BY FACEBOOK TO TRACK USERS REVEALED IN LETTERS TO CONGRESS?

1. 'Device information' from 'computers, phones, connected TVs, and other web-connected devices,' as well as your 'internet service provider or mobile operator'

2. 'Mouse movements', which can help distinguish humans from bots

3. 'App and file names', including the types of files on your devices

4. 'Device operations' such as whether a window running Facebook is 'foregrounded or backgrounded'

5. 'Device signals', including 'nearby Wi-Fi access points, beacons, and cell towers' and 'signal strength' as well as Bluetooth signals

6. 'Other devices that are nearby or on their network'

7. 'Battery level'

8. 'Available storage space'

9. 'Plugins' installed

10. 'Connection speed'

11. 'Purchases' Facebook users make on third-party websites

12. Contact information 'such as an address book' and 'call log or SMS log history' for Android users with these settings synced

13. Information 'about how users use features like our camera'

14. The 'location of a photo or the date a file was created' through the file's metadata

15. 'GPS location, camera, or photo' information found through your device's settings

16. Purchases from third-party data providers as well as other information about your 'online and offline actions'

17. 'Device IDs, and other identifiers, such as from games, apps or accounts users use'

18. 'When others share or comment on a photo of them, send a message to them, or upload, sync or import their contact information' text

Hsve to admit it, she's right BUT this is a 3 country deal so it's yet to be decided.

well I know for sure Winnipeg won't be hosting a game (and yet we were good enough to have a couple of games played when we hosted the Women's World Cup)

Will the Canadian team get automatic entry?

Traditionally, host nations have received an automatic spot in the tournament. But there has never been three hosts before.

The early indication is that Canada will get an automatic berth and avoid having to qualify — something it has done only once, in 1986. A final decision may not come for a few years, after the qualifying format for the new 48-team field is finalized. The expanded field probably helps Canada's chances of getting a spot.

Good they are speaking out but those that work for Fox entertainment are about to be bought by Disney so its not as risky to speak out about the boss that is leaving.  Someone should ask Vince McMahon how he feels about FOX News as he signs a $2 billion deal to take his "family friendly" entertainment to the main FOX network.

Disney ups their bid

Quote

As you may recall, months back, Disney put a bid of $52.4 billion to acquire most of 21st Century Fox’s assets, minus Fox News, Fox Business Network, and Fox Sports, which will be spun off into a separate company. However, just a few days back, Comcast threw down the gauntlet, putting in a $65 billion all-cash bid. The big question here was now if Disney would let things lie or take on Comcast with a higher offer.

Now, according to CNN Money, Disney has raised their bid to $71.3 billion, topping Comcast’s offer by $6.3 billion. There is one key difference here, however, that makes this offer all the more attractive. There is a provision that allows Fox shareholders to decide if they want payment in stock or in cash.

i think there can be a lot of debate about Steve Avery but this one is egregious. They manipulated a mentally disabled kid. Horrifying.

Never talk to cops without a lawyer especially if you're under 18.

Well yeah. But you have to know better. His “confession” should have been thrown out. His other confession, the one he refused to give because he didn’t do anything, was reluctantly given to his own legal team who coerced him into giving it.

when you’re a minor and your lawyer conspires with the DA to screw You, the court should protect you.
