The Unknown Poster Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Anyone catch Survivor Series last night? It was good. Notable for Nia being boo'ed to high hell (and playing up that she injured Becky). Ronda getting boo'ed (and she's from Cali) and looking very pissed off about it. Charlotte doing a hot heel turn where she decimates Ronda and gets cheered like mad (of course). RAW beating SD in every match (other then the pre-show and supposedly Vince ordered a clean sweep and someone screwed up and had SD win the pre-show lol). Enzo Amore showing up in a disguise in the second row and revealed himself, cut a promo and was tackled by security (apparently security tuned him up pretty good too). Brock and Bryan had a really good match. Gotta go all the way with Drew Mac. He's way better than Stroman.

There's lots of fan footage on twitter and unless they roughed him up backstage, security barely laid a finger on him. A lone woman guard grabbed his shirt & pulled him off his chair & then escorted him to the back.

Just rumor that one of the security popped him good. If he thinks thats the way to get back into WWE, he's nuts. bigg jay 1

The Unknown Poster Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Man is he stupid. That female security is awesome though. I heard she's the same one that tried to tackle Gronk when he was supposed to run in and she wasnt clued in. Looked like she was ready to fight Enzo (and where was the rest of security). For his sake, they better have taken him outside the arena and not to the locker room area lol Heard everyone backstage was pissed. Saw his former gf, Liv Morgan tweet a shot at him today too. bigg jay Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 I heard the same re:Gronk. She wasn't having any of Enzo's s**t! There's one video where there is another guy helping escort him out initially but he seemed to have gotten caught up in the crowd because she does end up by herself for a little bit.
The Unknown Poster Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 (edited) he also left his replica Cena belt (made to look like a custom Enzo belt) behind. Oops! And in other news, Ellsworth is in trouble for sending **** pics to a 16 year old. She went public and it opened the flood gates of "anonymous" women saying they too have been on the receiving end of Ellsworth's creepy behavior. Ellsworth lawyer is named Bates, as in Master Bates. Cant make this up. Edited November 19, 2018 by The Unknown Poster

I'm surprised he's even in wrestling. Well, all shapes and sizes and skill level in wrestling. He made it to WWE because he's sort of odd looking (looks like a jobber) as it was a comedy gimmick. But he was really good at it. He was one of the local jobbers hired to get killed by Braun but they liked him so brought him back for the angle with Carmella. They used to use local talent in the job rolls all the time but very rarely now. When they have a spot for "security" thats what they use the local talent for.
bigg jay Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Ellsworth already had a bit of a creeper rep too. Cody Rhodes tweeted something last week about workers & their unwanted advances towards women backstage and a number of people speculated it was Ellsworth he was addressing in his tweet (Cody said it wasn't). David was in a sitting position, his opponent standing behind him. Opponent broke a light tube over David's head, it slipped and cut his neck. Opponent "stabbed" at David's head with the light tube. DA felt the blood from his neck and apparently, rattled him a bit (Ive heard it was close to his jugular). He countered his opponent and flipped on top of him and appeared angry/stunned and immediately got up and walked out of the ring. He appeared to think about leaving but, still clutching his neck, re-entered the ring to do the finish. He seemed to be pissed and began to shoot a bit bit his opponent flipped him to the mat and they went to the finish. EDIT: I dont believe he suffered any serious injuries. And he was already bleeding from the head which I presume was a blade job as well as on his body from the death match antics. David, by all accounts, is a good guy who loves wrestling but these guys took total advantage of him. Edited November 20, 2018 by The Unknown Poster JCon 1
The Unknown Poster Posted November 21, 2018 Report Posted November 21, 2018 (edited) Some potentially big news. Its been discovered that several trademarks have been filed in Florida for "All Elite Wrestling, AEW, All Out, Double Or Nothing etc". The address they are registered to is the stadium the Jags play out of. The owner of the Jags had been connected to a rumors start up that had Jericho and Jim Ross attached. Both Jericho and Jim Ross blew it off so the rumor didnt get much steam. The idea here would be Cody, Bucks and presumably Kenny, Page etc forgoing WWE, New Japan and ROH and starting up their own promotion in 2019. The rumor previously going around was Jim Ross & Jericho were quietly contacting talent and suggesting they not re-sign with whomever they're currently signed with. EDIT: The owner of the Jags, Shahid Khan is worth close to $7 billion so he has some money and. through the NFL, some connections. Cody & The Bucks are friendly with WGN who aired the All In preview show (WGN wanted to air the entire show). One of the trademarks is "Tuesday Night Dynamite" which sure sounds like a TV show (a bad name, but whatever). If you already know you're running TV on Tuesday Night, it means you're well into negotiations with a TV outlet...With SD moving back to Friday, Tuesday is a good day to run. He is ranked 70th in the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans, and is overall the 221st wealthiest person in the world.[He is also the richest person of Pakistani origin. The Unknown Poster Posted November 21, 2018 Report Posted November 21, 2018 3 minutes ago, Brandon said: If true then wowza money shouldn't be an issue at all! Although rich people dont get that way being careless with their money. Ted Turner, a huge wrestling fan, explored starting up when his non-compete expired (this is many years ago) and was told $50 million to even have a chance to compete with WWE. He never mentioned it again. Panda Energy lost over $30 million on TNA because it was their daughter's vanity project and even they finally had enough. Drops in the bucket for these people but they dont like to part with the money. But if this is all actually happening and they have WGN involved for TV, they have a chance to at least be a ROH-level company. The issue is getting the larger wrestling community to pay for PPV's and go to live events. If a talent can go to WWE and make $1 million, you're asking him to make less in the new venture (or you're intending to generate a ton of revenue fast).
The Unknown Poster Posted November 28, 2018 Report Posted November 28, 2018 Good story on Tyson Kidd who suffered a career ending (almost worst) injury. Interestingly, he failed Kindergarten... https://www.thewhig.com/entertainment/television/tj-wilson-wrestlings-comeback-kidd
The Unknown Poster Posted November 29, 2018 Report Posted November 29, 2018 Some rasslin news (From Melzer and others): - As of January 1st, WWE contracted wrestlers in the UK will not be allowed to work for any unapproved promotions. WWE had signed several UK workers for $20,000-$25,000 per year but they could pretty much work anywhere they wanted. The plan had been for WWE to eventually get NXT UK set up. They began adding conditions...for example, their guys could not wrestle anyone who worked for a major rival promotion on an indy show (Pete Dunne for example, couldn't work a New Japan guy), couldn't work anywhere within one week of a WWE event, events couldnt be filmed or streamed etc There are handful of approved indy promotions in Europe who entered into an agreement with WWE that gives WWE first option to purchase them for an agreed upon price and shut them down. A big signing is Walter, who was the PWG Champion and is based in Germany's WXW. WWE has been after him for awhile but he was dead set against relocating to the US and doing the WWE tours. He will now become a focal point of NXT UK (and potentially NXT Germany if it gets off the ground). WWE's goal is to have offices in regions around the world (originally a Shane McMahon idea many years ago, now a Hunter project). The lower end UK talent look to be able to continue under the original agreement. Upper talent (and key talent) are being restricted but will receive raises. Apparently the labor laws are different in the UK and it might be harder for WWE to make the wrestlers work as independent contractors rather then employees (which they should be) - Larry Matysik passed away at 72. He was known as the voice of "Wrestling at the Chase" (a famous wrestling show from St Louis) - Jim Duggan was in ICU, since released but no word on what happened. - Hurricane Helms is going to NXT as an agent and a coach at the performance center - James Elsworth denied he sent anything inappropriate to anyone and claims the social media accounts purported to be his were fakes (uh huh) - In a story with some local spin, Brutus Beefcake left a 30+ day tour early and went home with the promotion, CWE, telling people Beefcake got paid up front for his remaining dates and left without telling anyone. Beefcake claims he was actually owed money and left due to a family emergency. I heard a version of the truth which paints Beefcake as less of a villain but he still left in the middle of the night without telling anyone...(he also did nothing in his Winnipeg appearance and was a bit of a **** when my friend asked for an autograph).

Been following along with this on the Twitter. I'm not surprised that people occasionally bail on those tours. 30+ shows with few (if any) nights off is a hell of a grind and I'm guessing some of these legends they bring in don't quite remember how uncomfortable it is to drive 8 hours every single day for a month straight. That being said, they made the commitment. Unless something incredibly serious comes up, fulfill that commitment and if something does come up, leave on a good note with a promise to make it up to them in the near future. The promoter posted a detailed explanation of his side of the story. Very similar to what I heard. We booked Brutus way back in 2002 and he was fine. That was only 5 days and he was much younger and had Honky Tonk Man with him. I remember Brutus was introduced to a friend of a friend right away who was an avid gym user. He took Brutus to work out every day and our mutual friend asked me why I didnt have more things planned for the guys when they were in town (to keep them busy and so they werent bored). I said, look we're pretty busy with the shows and these guys are adults...if they want to explore Winnipeg, they are free to do so...and free to ask us for anything they want. As it is we did take them out for several dinners and to a few after parties. But I guess Beefcake had complained to the mutual friend. The one annoying thing was, we had a local radio station contact us and ask for a morning show interview. The station wanted them at about 5 am and this message came through the previous night during an after party. The talent agreed to do it if we were able to procure them some "assistance" with waking up alert. Weirdest work meeting of my life as we discussed this for about 10 minutes and since I also worked in a bar, I was assigned the task of "you know people, right, can you get some stuff?" Ummmm yes...however, I decline. On the way back from Brandon late one night, its me driving the big names and they want to grab a 24. So we're tailed out of Brandon by the police as these guys are drinking beers in the Jeep. Finally, we're clear and Brutus decides he needs to relief himself. I learned that night of the way you do so on the road...into bottles and toss them out the window. No stopping! Anyway, too bad it didnt work out. 34 days is a long time for a 60-something wrestler but it sounds like he made a lot of money. ediger 1

ediger Posted December 1, 2018 Report Posted December 1, 2018 (edited) The Bootyman has responded to CWE's claims https://www.facebook.com/BrotherBruti/photos/a.1455527161126424/2206982692647530 Of interest in the comments is a screen grab of a text message sent to Danny Duggan (promoter of CWE for those who are unaware) by Ron "Faarooq" Simmons. The text reads "Don't worry Danny I will address that here and let everyone know that I did that exact tour and I was treated fairly and with respect. And in the mean time Feel free to quote me saying I did that exact tour and we made the best of the conditions we had. And that I had a great time working with everyone." That bolded part is the difference between a professional and a prima donna. It's the indies, you're not going to be getting the greatest of accommodations and you need to recognize that going in. Plus, some of these towns they hit have nothing other than an old run down motel. I suppose sleeping in the ring truck is an option... Edited December 1, 2018 by ediger
johnzo Posted December 5, 2018 Report Posted December 5, 2018 Seeing my very first semi-big live show in a couple weeks -- the Pacific NW promotion Defy is doing a show called #onedge in Seattle and they're bringing in some Lucha Underground alums (Pentagon, Brian Cage, Shane Strickland, Jack Evans) and some guys I don't know yet (Chris Ridgeway from the UK, the American Gunz, Artemis Spencer, Schaf, Brody King) Totally stoked to see that lineup -- Chris Ridgeway looks like a vicious guy, a good match for Pentagon. A little bummed that they teased Rey Fenix in October but it turns out he's dinged up and on the shelf for the rest of the year. Fenix is awesome, my favorite luchador, a guy who moves like a cirque de soleil performer. Hey, here's a question for TUP: how long does it take for two seasoned pros to put together a match? Asking because both Pentagon and Chris Ridgeway are from out of town and they both look like they've got pretty busy schedules, so they might not have much time in town together before match time and yet they are headlining, so they gotta put together a match that's a big deal...
