That Brutus Beefcake stuff was hilarious to read,   while I understand working in the Indies isn't glamorous... perhaps Danny should of given Brutus a heads up of how shitty the hotels are (assuming these shows are on Reserves).      If not then most small towns do have clean hotels at somewhat decent rates around this province.   I've stayed in many that were decent.

I don’t think any were reserves. Small towns across the west.

I was reading more into the stories with each guy posting a massive Facebook post complaining about each other.    I found the comments hilarious with the local promoters brown nosing Brutus and slightly cutting into Danny.

I'm sure it's a bit on both guys...  probably Brutus is old and to tired to go on the road for a month straight and I'm sure CWE was cutting corners to save money and had crappy rest stops and crappy transportation.   I wouldn't have a clue on why a man 40 years into his career would find the need to hit the road for a month straight?  I'm way younger and I find myself tired of being on the road for 5 days with work...

From every shoot interview I've watched the guy seemed to be a major a-hole and a scum bag.   I wonder if he'll ever go in the HOF?

Which local promoters?

From beedcakes perspective it’s a years worth of money in one month. Probably more than a year actually.  Good money. And if you didn’t save your money and still need it, it’s too tempting to pass up.

It is awfully long though. I’ve done a couple of short tours. Lots of fun. I’d think after a week or so it stops being fun and becomes just work.

It’s hard to imagine the Bulldogs not going in together.  At least as a duo they could say nice things about Davey.  With the Hart’s on good terms and Harry Smith available. I could see it sooner than later.

Not to be too blunt but what would someone like Beefcake make on a 30-day tour like that? You say it's a years worth of money. How much cake (Beefcake) are we talking?

I understand if you can't or won't share.

Rest in Peace Dynamite Kid... Tom Billington. Maybe he wasn't the nicest guy in & out of the ring but he was a helluva wrestler. He should be remembered for that. He had his share of suffering later in life including being confined to a wheelchair & in constant pain.

I don’t really know. But from what I understand it’s more than I expected.

If beefcakes usual rate is around $500 US, you’d normally get a deal on multiple dates.  If you offered him $200 per show that’s $12,000 and he’s making money on selling his book (which sold out) and photos/autographs.

Probabky exaggerating to say a years worth of money but if he did one booking per week that’s only 52 and hes not working every week.

If he went home with $20,000 it wouldn’t surprise me.  But I really don’t know.

I’ve noticed rates are rising the last year or two. Especially for “worker” type guys (all japan, ROH etc).   Indies are hot

Easily one of the best of all time.  And a huge influence on so many guys that became big big stars.

A good take on Dynamite Kid (the opening to this week's Metlzer newsletter):

Quote

Perhaps the most succinct way of putting it came from Julie Hart, his former sister-in-law, who one day told me, “Really, he was the best wrestler there ever was,” said Hart, who saw more than her share of great wrestling and was the wife of Bret Hart. “And as great as he was as a wrestler, he was every bit as miserable of a human being.”

Going over both long winded Facebook posts...   I believe I read that he wanted his first two weeks paid ahead of time for $5000.    Danny's post mentioned that he also took in money from merch sales (said he also skimmed extra money from the cash float) and he sold out of all his autobiography books and was selling pictures.       I'd imagine the money would be around $15 000 ?    This was for just being at the show,  he didn't wrestle or participate in any of the matches in any way.

I don't know...  the stories I read was of him being crazy and used to beat the crap out of his ex wife and threaten her with a gun to her head saying he'd kill her on more then one occasion.     The accusations of him raping women and beating them up...    breaking his nieces knees to collect insurance money.    Guy sounded like a terrible human.

Chris Benoit was a fantastic wrestler...  but it's not like they can put him in the HOF and have everyone ignore his dark crime.

He did participate in matches but the disagreement is Beefcake thought it was just an autograph signing/book tour at wrestling events and Danny felt he should strut & cut every show.  I definitely agree with Danny that you want him doing the hair cut.   I imagine there are emails or texts somewhere indicating which one is correct on that agreement.

In Winnipeg it was pretty glaring that Beefcake did nothing.  He was outside the ring enforcer.  But one of the heels had long hair and ended up alone in the ring after the match and it appeared obvious he was there for a haircut and Beefcake just wouldnt do it.

The other thing is Danny said Beefcake didnt care about making an entrance.  That might seem like a small thing but when you're producing a show, its pretty important for the feel of the show.  In Winnipeg, we were shocked to see Beefcake lingering around right before his segment and didnt come through the curtain.  I assume in Beefcake's mind he was minimizing the idea that he'd be involved.  But it hurts the show.

Funny story (cant remember if I told it in this thread, I told it on a different forum).  I was at the Winnipeg show with a buddy and as we're leaving he says he has a Beefcake doll and asked if it was too "markish" to get it signed.  I said whatever, you're allowed to be a fan and I doubt you'll ever see him again.  So I left and it turns out the buddy went back inside with the doll and asked Beekcake to sign it.   Beefcake first blew him off because he had to go to the bathroom and then finally came back and said "you know I get $20 to do this, right?".  My friend thought that was unreasonable and offered $10.  Beefcake then cut a promo on him about how this is his livelihood...and concluded with "$10 is enough for a couple drinks" and took it.

So he didnt seem overly happy. lol

I saw Mike Davidson and Marc Merric's name in the comments kind of sucking up to Brutus.

I hadnt seen that.  That surprises me.  Although Tony Condello told me he called Beefcake at home and believed his side of the story lol

Oh yeah, Benoit is never going in.  But its really about whether the public at large sees a person as good or bad and if bad, how bad.  Benoit is obvious.  But they celebrated Snuka's life when he died shortly after an old murder incident resurfaced, because the public at large ignored it.  They treated Moolah like a saint when she was anything but until one of their sponsors intervened and told them to stop (one of the reasons the use Johnnie Mae Young as their women's legend now).  They wouldnt put Chyna in the HOF while she was alive (Hunter once used the excuse that his daughters could google Chyna and see porn).

Of course, they also declined to put a dying Vader in the HOF.  It can be very petty.

But the Hart's are wrestling royalty.  I think Dynamite goes in with Davey as the Bulldogs and they can crow about their collective talent with Tyson Kidd, Harry Smith, Bret etc putting them over.   Assuming Dynamite's family is on board (they'd get some money for it so unless they are morally opposed like Owen's widow, so I assume they'd be all for it).

Crazy!

From Metlzer (didnt see this anywhere else)

Quote

There was an altercation that involved Chris Jericho on 12/2 after his concert in Regina, Saskatchewan.

According to an eye witness who was there watching after the concert, there were a few people waiting outside the Fozzy tour bus. One kid who helped play the guitar wanted to meet Jericho and a guy who was all messed up told the kid he would get him on the bus. People tried to tell him no since he was all messed up. Then he started pounding on the bus door. Eventually he walked away.

He came back and somehow talked his way on the bus. People could hear a commotion and then the guy got thrown off the bus. According to one person on the bus, the man was asked to leave by a member of the crew, drum tech Jack Slade, who the guy attacked.

In the fracas, the guy threw Slade off the bus and Slade landed hard on the ground, breaking his collarbone, and was hospitalized.

Jericho then jumped off the bus and said that the guy had just assaulted somebody on the bus. People grabbed the guy and Jericho gave him what was described as a spear and ended up on top of him, punching him in the face. It was broken up and Jericho went back on the bus.

Jericho came back out of the bus and got into it with the guy again and Jericho beat on him, and then let him go. Other people tried to hold him until police arrived, but he escaped. He hopped some fences and one report was that he hit a security guy with his car before police apprehended him.

The band, as well as the venue was furious the man got away and there were complaints about the lack of any security around.

Loudwire talked to a different eye witness who said that the guy was on meth and got on the bus looking for autographs. “He was told he couldn’t just come onto the bus and to wait outside as Chris’ family was on the bus. He wouldn’t leave and took a swing at Jack Slade. He pulled Jack off the bus and Jack landed hard and broke his collarbone. Chris chased the guy and tackled him. Then security came and called the cops. The guy ran away and jumped a fence and got caught on some barbed wire. Then he got in his car and hit a security guard. Cops got him and charged him.

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to have a bit of fun and cut a guys hair or even come out of the side doing the strut?    I'd be bored to tears just sitting at a table doing nothing 30 days in a row.   It's not like he was asked to take a bump or to really get involved.     I also agree with Danny in regards to his appearance on the CTV Regina segment where he was completely disinterested and did nothing to help sell the show.      The HTM whenever he comes to town and goes on TV has fun with it and goes over the top on the segments and seemingly looks like he enjoys himself.

HTM is tremendous.

We had him in several times and he was always game to do any media.  He also is awesome with sponsors.  During one tour, we had an off night in Winnipeg (it happened to be my birthday).  The idea was to go out for my birthday and take HTM out.  So I chose Cowboys (since Im not much of a bar guy but I like Cowboys).

HTM had been on a CWE show several months before at Cowboys and had ingratiated himself to staff at management.  About two weeks before my birthday, CWE had gone back to Cowboys without HTM (I dont think they had a name...maybe it was Demolition?).  So we're there and as soon as we walk in the staff are all coming up to Honky and saying how much they missed him being at the last show.

HTM introduced all of them to me and said "I only work for PCW in Winnipeg now so if you want to see the Honky Tonk Man, you have to talk to this guy".  He was super.

We ended the night at Teasers where he was also a big star (he knew the manager from back in the WWE days).  Ended up on stage with several nude dancers singing and dancing to his theme song.

Dynamite kid.. Innovative wrestler. Piece of **** human. Him and Davey Boy had a huge falling out over DB trademarking the name British Bulldog so i honestly dont see them going in together ever.

Im not sure Dynamite deserves to be either.. Yeah he was a great wrestler but his off screen antics i think hurt him. He was not a good person. And he wasn't really a star.. Warrior was a POS too but huge star... Dont think ppl care about Tommy Billington enough.

I dont think the trademark of British Bulldog will matter between Davey and Dynamite now since they're both dead.  Unless Dynamite's kids hold a grudge (but the HOF can generate some money so sometimes that heals wounds).

Warrior had some very very nasty remarks that WWE is incredibly lucky the mainstream doesnt care about.  His Warrior Award would disappear pretty damn fast if a major publication covered his homophobic rants.

Dynamite was a pretty big star.  Not in WWE *that* long due to the terrible injury he suffered so young and getting paid more in Japan but as far as worldwide star, he was pretty big.  His influence on other wrestlers warrants a HOF induction alone (but WWE's HOF is more a popularity contest for Vince then legitimate).  But any HOF that has Koke B Ware should have Dynamite.

You could be right that Davey was big enough that they'd induct him by himself but I would think they'd do the tag team.  But Davey was much friendlier with WWE much longer so its entirely possible they'd do him alone.

They generally have a limit on dead inductions every year.  By the way, the big rumor is Rock this year.

Wait, is Frankie in the HOF too? Matilda needs to go in with Davey and Dynamite.
