Multiple reports indicate Russia’s under-18 entry will be replaced by the country’s under-17 team, comprised of players born in 1999. The under-18 roster has been wiped from the team’s official website.

How many of these players would be considered for the draft in a couple of years? This has to impact that. And what of the players who weren't doping?

Actually, that article goes on to say that this particular drug is not yet banned in the NHL, and they wouldn't add a drug to the banned list mid-season.

So for now, they would be okay.

German Rubstov i believe is a draft eligible russian but he's been playing in the CHL i believe, He's a good one and i highly doubt this effects his stock in anyway.

It's not just hockey in Russia that's being hit hard.   There have been 114 Russian athletes, in various sports, test positive for Meldonium in the first 12 weeks since WADA made it a banned substance (and that number does not include the hockey team).  

Their entire track & field program has already been banned from international competition (not good in an Olympic year!) so I have a feeling there will be much more to come.

The way the WADA did this is an absolute joke though.

Yep, apparently there's no concrete testing available to tell how long it stays in your system so there are athletes claiming that they took meldonium when it was legal but are still getting popped.  They have to prove to WADA that they stopped when the ban came into effect but there's really no way to do that.

Was Maria Sharapova not one of those athletes?

Yes.  She's the most well known to get popped but there have been world champions & Olympic gold medalists as well.

In the Men's World Curling Championship, the Russian team apparently all "got sick" and the entire lineup was replaced just days before the event started. Go figure.

I still remember when Beckie Scott said that the two Russians who came ahead of her at Salt Lake were blood doping and that bonehead **** Pound gave her all kinds of **** for saying that, and then they got busted for darbepoetin and Beckie ended up with the gold while **** had to eat crow.  Talk about a cheating culture in Russia.  Just ridiculous.
