Rich Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 The majority of his contract is in pure bonuses not performance bonuses. This is the new rage to future proof players from lockouts and buyouts.
Goalie Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 More like signing bonus. I think on July 1st of every year Ladd will get most of his money. So let's just say it's 5 million. He'd probably get 4 on July 1st. I think that's how his deal works
Brandon Blue&Gold Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Send Stuart to the Moose today and Trouba will resign tomorrow. LOL just kidding I think?
Goalie Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 It's not even about Stuart. It's about Trouba wanting a top 4 role and quite frankly... Buff Trouba. Enstrom Myers. Postma Morrissey is a Damn good d group. Trouba should be top 4. This isn't really about Stuart or Chevy for that matter. It's about Maurice. Maurice needs to stop with his love of the veterans. Pavelec. Stuart. Thorburn should not get that much time on the ice. It's Maurices biggest downfall as a coach. Relying on 3 guys who should easily be replaced by younger talent who are a part of the future

Relying on 3 guys who should easily be replaced by younger talent who are a part of the future I'd be a little worried if that's our 3rd pairing - don't get me wrong, better than Stu in the top 6, but still.. If I had to send a critique Chevy's way this offseason, it's the lack of additions to the blue line. Strait isn't a viable option for the big club IMO. Morrissey is unproven (so far) and Postma is a 27 yr old journeyman with all of 120 NHL games in 5 years. Hopefully Trouba is locked up & maybe more player movement happens - until then I don't think our D is good enough to get back to the playoffs. 17/18 feels more like our year...
Ducky Posted August 12, 2016 Author Report Posted August 12, 2016 Whether we make the playoffs depends on three things... Goaltending, special teams, how well the rookies (Laine, Connor, Morrissey?, Lemieux?) and younger players like Amia, Ehlers, and Dano? play. Not sure Dano starts with the team as he can still be sent down. Ehlers, Scheifele, Wheeler, Perreault, Little, Connor, Laine, Stafford, Lowry, Thorbs, Armia, Burmi and Matthias will probably start with the Jets. ESW Laine Little Staf Connor Perreault Armia Matthias Lowry Burmi Thorbs pressbox... unless of course they keep 2 extra forwards and only one extra D man. or something like that.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) I dont expect to make the playoffs this year. Not this young of a team. Not with LHD &, goaltending short-comings. Postma/Morrissey? Aiiiee. Postma's got the O but lacking in D and at 26 he's only ahead of Cormier in terms of chances. Edited August 12, 2016 by FrostyWinnipeg
kelownabomberfan Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 is Logan Stanley going back to junior? Or will he stick with the Moose?
Rich Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 2 minutes ago, kelownabomberfan said: is Logan Stanley going back to junior? Or will he stick with the Moose? If a player has any junior eligibility left (which Stanley should), there really is no choice in the matter. He has to go to juniors.
Brandon Blue&Gold Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 1 minute ago, kelownabomberfan said: is Logan Stanley going back to junior? Or will he stick with the Moose? He's 18 years old. It's either OHL or NHL for him. So back to Windsor for him. I think Windsor hosts next year's Memorial Cup so he should get some good playoff games in.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 Logan probably another 2 years in j.
The Unknown Poster Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 Yeah, Trouba's days with Stu are over. The only issue would be if he really doesn't want to play LHD. And I doubt thats an issue.
Goalie Posted August 13, 2016 Report Posted August 13, 2016 When the Jets drafted Stanley they specifically said... 2 more years of junior then 1 year in the A at least. Don't think LHD is a huge issue. . It Will come down to the young guys the special teams and goaltending Ducky 1
Ducky Posted August 13, 2016 Author Report Posted August 13, 2016 We gotta stop agreeing like this... Goalie 1
Ducky Posted September 4, 2016 Author Report Posted September 4, 2016 Ehlers Scheifele Wheeler Little Staf Perreault Laine Mathias Burmi Lowry Armia Connor Thorbs will be the starting forwards...add Copp if they keep 14. Buff Trouba Myers Enstrom Chiarot Stuart Morrissey will be the starting D if they keep 4. Pavs and Helle for goalies. Dano is good enough but probably starts with the Moose.
FrostyWinnipeg Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 Last couple years Jets have had 2D/1F as the extras so factor that into the thinking.
Ducky Posted September 4, 2016 Author Report Posted September 4, 2016 I think they keep 2F and 1 D this year. Atomic 1
Ducky Posted October 1, 2016 Author Report Posted October 1, 2016 Connor is really making a case for staying up with the big team as is Morrissey and Tanev. Ehlers Scheif Wheeler Perreault Little Stafford Laine Matthias (injured) are locks to make the team. Lowry Armia Connor Thorbs Burmi Copp will probably make the team. Petan Dano Tanev Peluso and the rest will probably be sent down. Buff Enstrom Stuart Myers are locks. Morrissey Chiarot Postma likely stay with big team. The rest will probably go down as I think the Jets only carry 7 D men this year.
bustamente Posted October 1, 2016 Report Posted October 1, 2016 No need to rush any prospects, the only guys out of that pool that will start with the Jets are Laine and Morrissey. Everyone else can go back to the Moose or Junior, or course a trade or 2 may change things up.
Goalie Posted October 1, 2016 Report Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) Connor will make the team. Laine will. Morrissey will. Tanev might due to his hustle and PK ability. Right now I'd have Copp also. I don't think I see a place for Thor other than the press box Edited October 1, 2016 by Goalie

Ducky Posted October 2, 2016 Author Report Posted October 2, 2016 If Matthias is still injured at the start of the season, I would think Tanev stays up or maybe Petan. This is based on the few games they have played and I know nothing about practices so... lots can change by the opener. Hell, Trouba might sign!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, the Moose should be a lot better this year. Tanev, Petan, De Leo, Dano, Peluso, Thorbs (if I had my way), H, P, or H (one of the three goalies), Howden, Comrie and Lemieux who has had a tough break. What happens with Phillips? ECHL? or Tulsa or wherever? If Pavs were gone, he could back up Comrie on the farm.
kelownabomberfan Posted October 2, 2016 Report Posted October 2, 2016 Lemieux has had a tough break? How so?
