Well doesnt change things too much for the Jets.

It doesnt surprise me if what I heard was the issue is correct.  Didnt seem like something that desperately required him being here...But maybe revisit it when his contract is up...

UFA in 3 years?

LOL at the people saying Jets and/or Oilers "missed the boat" on a trade.

We can't say for sure either team made an offer, or what was proposed.

Id chaulk it up to Hamonic perhaps rectifying a situation at home and/or the Isles winning a round this year.

As TUP said, no big loss for the Jets. Now focus efforts on another vet D via trade or free agency.

This morning Hamonic said the request was due to the health of an extremely close family member.  That situation has since stabilized so he's able to rescind the trade request.

And if the situation destabilizes in, say, six months?    The way I heard it, that was part of the situation but there were other complications.  None of which seemed to me to be something he couldnt deal with while playing in New York.  But apparently he is a big family man and it was important for him to be here to help out.    I wouldnt be surprised if the Jets have a convo with him in three years

I don't think we have the right to question why he should or shouldn't play here or how many games he plays on the road. Thankfully, things are better for his family now.

Rescinding a trade request does not mean he stays with the NYI.  It means he's not pushing openly for a trade.  It doesn't mean Garth isn't shopping him.
