bearpants Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 I'd prefer they brought in T-Dre Player than Haidara... he could be the 6th man immediately so we don't have to force Couture... Blueballz 1

Bombers have one Natl. receiver spot with 5 Natls. contending. Conversely they have 3 Natl. O-line spots with 5 Natls. contending and they are down to one healthy backup. Almost every roster spot is backed up by a NI. JFG isn't just backing up Kohlert, he's likely backing up all 5 receivers depending on who they DI as a returner. This signing has nothing to do with competition at that spot. Any competition created by it is merely a bonus. 3 NI receivers dressed for a game is the minimum you need to construct a sensible CFL roster, and those guys need depth behind them somewhere on the PR/IR. blitzmore 1

Seems to be the consensus and yet it didn't happen and would have already if Walters really wanted him. Who or what are they waiting for to bolster their Natl. O-line talent??? A few more team cuts to come prior to game time may reveal a few players they are hoping to grab.

Very true, especially if talking about two Natl. receiver spots which is looking to be the reality with Harris in iffy status. Edited June 22, 2016 by Throw Long Bannatyne
Jpan85 Posted June 22, 2016 Author Report Posted June 22, 2016 Bastien was hurt in practice this week. So more than likely Hadria is on 46.
wbbfan Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 decent athlete hasnt done much so far but we only have 1 productive NI wr so worth taking a risk.

Atomic Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 If Harris and Bastien are both unable to play then it is obvious that this was a signing out of necessity. You can't start 2 Canadian receivers with no backup. Haidara should actually be an upgrade on Bastien in terms of special teams play. wbbfan 1
Floyd Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 Might have been premature to cut Bucknor if Adams and Hurl are still injured? TBURGESS and DR. CFL 2
bigg jay Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 Darren Cameron says Hurl and JFG are both options if Harris can't go so I guess Hurl isn't that banged up.
iso_55 Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 Apparently Bucknor has signed with the Stamps & not Ti Cats.
Floyd Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 Amazing how our Cdn depth seems razor thin all of a sudden...
Blueandgold Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 Does it really seem razor thin though? I mean JFG and Hurl were both two guys who were among our top seven last year and now they're just injury replacements. While a third in Bucknor was cut. wbbfan, Fan Boy, rex and 2 others 5

This not the NFL, so the loss of any starter, import or non-import causes problems for any team- except maybe the Cowgarians.
Jpan85 Posted June 23, 2016 Author Report Posted June 23, 2016 Calgary is starting 2016 fourth rounder Roman Grozman at center this week. They have real depth problems at this time. comedygeek 1
