Kid will be a project no doubt but his skating started to improve last year and if his feet can get quicker he could have some upside. Huge with a mean streak will probably be more defense than offence

Meh they wanted a guy and the D were starting to fly.

I'm fine with it. 22 and the 4th rounder tho would have been enough

Insane that Chia wasn't able to make a deal happen to get the big top pairing D he wanted. One of the talking heads tweeted yesterday "If Chia can't make it happen here, then it can't be done..." and that's pretty much it. There's so few legit top pairing D and nobody's willing to part with one for less than a king's ransom, and Chia's not stupid. Lots of talk that by taking Puljujarvi, they now have a bit of freedom to trade one of their 6m Core guys....we'll see if anything happens over the next week, leading up to FA Day...

Just what Edmonton needs, another scoring forward.

Gets me thinking he might be trade bait for a quality dman they desperately need and right know he's technically an unproven commodity that they can use to their advantage. Edmonton gets things just given to them, yeesh.

Jets loading up on D men this draft.

Round 3 selection:  D (shoots right) - Luke Green

Quote

An excellent offensive defenceman whose killer instincts in the offensive zone allow him to materialize scoring chances. Very shifty skater who is highly mobile. Good puckhandling ability and puck control; makes quick decisions with the puck in traffic and under pressure. Reliable defensively, but is much more effective when utilizing his offensive tools at the other end of the ice. All-in-all, a smart, smooth-skating defenceman who can play in most situations and excel in an offensive position. Round 4 selection:  D (shoots right) - Jacob Cederholm

Quote

Cederholm is an aggressive shutdown defenseman with limited offensive skills. Has a big body and skates well enough for someone of his size. Excellent reach and does well in 1-on-1 situations. Will not wow anyone with his offensive tools or puck skills. Good team player with leadership qualities, however. - See more at: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=169012#sthash.SylhEJ36.dpuf

Yeah Green was rated higher and seems to have one try of upside. Decent size at 18 years old

the other guy is already 6'3". And he was also ranked higher.  Jets clearly feel they need to restock the D and those are both good picks. Along with with Logan they have some food options for the future.

Some rankings have him a lot higher too. Kid from Brandon with decent skill and speed and a frame with room to grow.

Could be another important pick down the road. He's also older, missing last years draft by five days so he might be a year ahead developmentally.

Good pick.

Are you kidding? In EDM they are already calling the picking of Pul as the next pairing of Gretzky/Kurri and i don't think they are wrong thinking that.

Noticing a trend. Jets' picks all steals. Are they that good or are we all homers?

Homers.

Most picks on draft day are 'good' or a 'steal'.  Top picks can be questioned or deemed a reach ... who really knows these late rounds.

And our last pick is traded away.  Weird trade.  Must be no one we wanted or deferring picks to lighten the amount of contracts we may need to carry.
