Noeller Posted July 11, 2016 Author Report Posted July 11, 2016 Ignore that last post... The mobile version was being weird and not letting me post properly. Couple things in response to this thread... That Berry-era OL was awesome and made better by Glenn quick release attack. Also, having said all that, I would really love to go back and watch some games from 07. Man that was a special team... Mr. Perfect and Wanna-B-Fanboy 2

Lets not get carried away... 2008 was a miserable first half - Blink couldn't get past LOS, Glenn was getting beat up pretty good
Noeller Posted July 11, 2016 Author Report Posted July 11, 2016 again, tho, compared to late 90s-2005, and 2009-now.........it was a real good OL.

17to85 Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 The line in 2000 and 2001 was OK but they got old and poor in a hurry and by 02 and 03 they were getting khari killed Mr. Perfect 1
Noeller Posted July 11, 2016 Author Report Posted July 11, 2016 ****, the dropoff with Big Mo Elewonibi was brutal.....when he started falling off, it was right off a cliff. Floyd 1
Jpan85 Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 I like in 2002 we were scoring TD so fast that he would go down after extra points letting the d rest as the trainers attended to him
Jpan85 Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 Dave Mudge might be the best OL we have had in 15 years. SPuDS 1

It was a decent team, but teams were beginning to clue in on their scheme - chickens came home roost in '08
do or die Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 Taman "developmental" plan came home to roost in 2008......somewhat like the Riders in 2015...

After the Joe Smith trade, that was a team on a roll... If you give Taman and Berry another season, we're not in the mess we are now... his 2008 draft was actually really good. Tracker and Atomic 2

If they hadn't been so thoroughly picked apart by Ricky Ray in the east semi-final, that team might have survived another year. But they were and they didn't.
do or die Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 Dumb front loaded contracts to declining vets, various import recruiting fails, and no #1 CDN draft pick for 7 straight years...... we are talking about the same GM, right? People are still pining for this guy? Good grief. Atomic, Blueandgold and Brandon 3

I'm pretty Milt Stegall was still getting paid against our cap for another season or two after he retired. Just awful.

Berry was a marked man but he didn't help his own cause very much. Kelly has to be one of the worst hires as HC in 'Bomber history- right up there with Reinbold and Zaleski.

You can make the same argument that Taman's 2007 Bomber team was similar to his 2013 Sask team... Taman would be a hero around here if that 2007 game went differently... doesn't make his strategy any better, however...

Taman didn't invent this salary dodge and it was probably his best/only option for a cash-poor team- Bauer threw nickels around like manhole (sorry, personhole) covers. Floyd 1
